Manager, Institutional Review Board - Boise, Id

The St. Luke's Health System IRB has an immediate opening for a full time IRB manager.

The St. Luke's Health System is the largest health care provider in the state of Idaho. St. Luke's has a growing research division serving four hospitals 5 cancer treatment centers, multiple health clinics and other affiliated and community entities.

The manager is responsible for the overall administration of the Health System IRB. The ideal candidate will have experience in leadership, development and administration of the daily operations of an IRB.

MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Review and coordinate items needed for complete review of protocols submitted.
-Safety report reviews.
-Follow up on outstanding IRB issues with investigators.
-Provide oversight for coordination of IRB meetings.
-Ensure that policies, procedures, and standards are developed, implemented and maintained.
-Function as a liaison between IRB chair and committee members, government and institutional officials, legal council, investigators and research subjects or their families.
-Keep abreast of new government regulations or guidance regarding conduct of research involving human subjects and make changes to dept., policies, and procedures as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

-Bachelors degree in science or related field and five years minimum experience in research and compliance activities to include knowledge in federal regulations pertaining to the protection of human subjects in research.

SKILLS:
-Strong decision-making skills.
-Knowledge of relevant regulations, clinical and behavioral research methodology and terminology.
-Ability to interpret research protocol information in relation to federal regulations and guidelines, and institutional policy.
-Strong ability to multi-task and manage a chaotic work environment related to changing needs of the individuals we serve.
-Ability to organize, prioritize and work independently to meet routine and high-pressure deadlines.
-Must have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written comprehension and expression.
