Position Title: Research Integrity Coordinator (Education & Audit)
Department: Research Integrity
Division: Office of Research & Sponsored Programs

Reports to: Research Integrity Associate
I. Position Summary:
Under the guidance of the Research Integrity Associate: develops, implements, and oversees the education and audit compliance programs for research involving human and animal subjects, conflicts of interest, and scientific misconduct.
II. Position Activities:
Oversight
A. Assists in determining audit objectives and procedures to be utilized
B. Prepares an audit plan according to departmental and regulatory standards
C. Conducts audits of ongoing human and animal research protocols
D. Participates in discussions with the WCMC research community regarding compliance
E. Coordinates the resolution of compliance related issued with the investigators and conducts follow up interviews related to the correction of noted deficiencies
F. Prepares detailed reports on audit and compliance related issues
G. Develops, plans and coordinates various educational programs for the WCMC research community, including the monthly Research Coordinators’ Network (RCN), the annual Tri-RCR course, and the Research Integrity Seminars in Ethics (RISE) program.
H. Develops the Research Coordinator Ambassador program for the Division
III. Minimum Requirements:
A. Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred
B. 3-5 years of relevant experience in research compliance, clinical trials, health care, public health or the equivalent
C. Must be knowledgeable of federal and state regulations, including an understanding of ethical principals regarding the protection of human and animal subjects in research
D. Scrupulous attention to detail, ability to work independently towards overall target, find solutions to unexpected problems, think creatively, show initiative and report progress regularly.
E. Excellent organizational skills, good writing and spoken English.
F. Must be able to oversee projects from beginning to end, manage time, balance diverse tasks over short-, medium-, and long-term.
G. Other duties as assigned.
