Duties: You will serve as subject matter expert and is recognized as authority and primary senior level expert advisor to the Army Research Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC) Director and Institutional Review Board (IRB) with respect to the ARDEC Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) and all ARDEC matters related to human subjects' protection, regulatory compliance and quality improvement. You are responsible for managing the ARDEC Human Research Protection Program on behalf of the Director, ARDEC to implement the terms of the ARDEC Assurance for the Protection of Human Research Subjects at all its geographical locations. Develops, and oversees the advanced level ARDEC Human Research Protection Program, a broad, coordinated national and international program of regulatory compliance. Develops and updates specific institution policies and procedures that are encompassed within the ARDEC Human Research Protection Program and that are related to the responsible conduct of research.
About the Position: This position is located in the Target Behavioral Response Lab (TBRL) Quality Engineering & System Assurance Directorate. The Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC) is the Armys Center of Lethality, and provides more than 90 percent of the Armys lethality to Soldiers. ARDECs mission includes: improving already fielded items, developing new items, maintaining a strong armament technology base in government, industry and academia and provide technical support to Soldiers in the field.

* Qualified applicants for this position must demonstrate in their resume that they meet the minimum qualification described below. Additionally, successful performance in this position demands thorough knowledge in application of Federal regulations regarding the protection of human subjects. Experience working with an Institutional Review Board (IRB), or experience as a Human Protection Administrator or IRB Administrator. Please describe in-detail your knowledge and experience supporting extramural programs under the research institution conducted in educational, research, government, industry, universities, and other institutions. Specialized experience will be considered creditable, if it supports the duties of the position; and equivalent in complexity to the next lower pay-band or grade level (GS-13 of Federal Service). Please note: position is classified in accordance with DoD Civilian Personnel Manual 1400.25-M, Subchapter 1920.
* GS-12 and above: One year of experience directly related to the occupation and equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. There is no substitution of education for experience at this level.
* GS-12 and above: Bachelor's degree directly related to this occupation and 1 year of experience directly related to this occupation equivalent to the next lower grade level.
* Possess 12 months of experience working in a related field.
* Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
