Title: Medical Director, NEIRB
Hours: 20 hours/week
Location: Wellesley, MA
New England Institutional Review Board (NEIRB, an independent IRB is currently seeking a qualified physician to serve as NEIRB’s Medical Director. The Medical Director of NEIRB will provide medical expertise necessary to complete NEIRB’s mission. The Medical Director will serve as an organizational leader to IRB staff, Board Members and to external entities that have a relationship with NEIRB.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. MA Licensed M.D. or D.O.
2. Prior service on an IRB
3. Extensive knowledge of IRB regulations and ethical mandates
5. Practical experience in the conduct of clinical trials
Job Responsibilities, include, but are not limited to:
1. Serve as IRB Chair
2. Serve as Primary Reviewer
3. Conduct training sessions with researchers
4. Consult with Investigators, CROs and Sponsors as needed
5. Liaison with NEIRB clients on medical issues
6. Prepare and deliver presentations at professional meetings
7. Participate in NEIRB educational seminars and luncheons
8. Participate in Quality Review Meetings and functions
9. Participate in FDA audits and AAHRPP on-site visits
It is anticipated that the required time commitment for this salaried position will be between 65 and 80 hours per month.
