Texas Health Resources is in search of a eIRB Applications Analyst (Job Id# 23232) to join the Research Compliance Team with Texas Health Research & Education Institute.
Texas Health Research & Education Institute advances health through research and education. As an independent, not-for-profit organization within Texas Health Resources, Texas Health Research & Education:
- Conducts research that contributes to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease.
- Offers continuing medical education to physicians and other health care professionals.
Hours / Schedule: Full Time / 8:00am-5:00pm / Monday-Friday
Minimum Qualifications / Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science systems or equivalent programming or development experience is required
- One (1) year directly-related experience with hands-on web application development/programming with experience in or using: Database technology and SQL/query design - preferably using SQL Server, HTML and XML; Programming (JavaScript, VBScript, C++ or C#, Java, VB); Source code control technology and process (preferably using VSS; Microsoft Windows, preferably Server)
- Experience with business process flows, web-based systems and experience with automating task functions with business software
- Proficiency with HTML is required (*database support experience and/or scripting skill JScript or JavaScript a plus)
- The candidate should also be a strong team player who is self-motivated, has strong written and oral communication skills, the ability to work with staff at all levels to support system functions (*Occasional extended hours will be required)
Essential Responsibilities:
- This position will ensure that human research (initial submission, continuing review, amendments, unanticipated problems and/or adverse events) has been processed through an IRB according to regulations, company/entity policies
- Ensure the integrity of approval workflow processes, security, and permissions structures for these applications
- Refine the business requirements for these systems by working with the IRB Director / Chairs / Institutional Official / eIRB Vendor and coordinating with internal IT resources for future software modifications to meet user requirements
- Work in conjunction with IRB personnel to provide program management for the installation, maintenance, generates reports as needed and on-going support of the web-based IRB system
- Change web-based forms and workflows and perform minor upgrades/enhancements/fixes as required
- Plan design and conduct user training in coordination with the IRB staff
- Oversees the successful system use by the primary user groups consisting of Investigators and research staff, IRB members and IRB staff by providing them with various levels of assistance in understanding the application and its uses
- Assist IRB Office and THREI personnel with technical needs, as authorized and needed
