 Compliance Coordinator -- Greensboro, NC

The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) is a public, coeducational, doctoral-granting, residential university chartered in 1891. It is one of the three original institutions of The University of North Carolina System. UNCG is home to more than 17,500 on-campus students and over 950 others in distance-learning programs from 49 states and more than 70 countries. The fall 2009 freshman class is the largest ever at 2,510 and ethnic minority enrollment is about 33 percent. Additionally, the university has a diverse research portfolio that generated approximately $47 million in external research last year.
The Compliance Coordinator will report directly to the Director of the Office of Research Compliance (ORC) and be expected to assist with ORC duties, including:

• Conducts initial review for all determinations and exempt protocols
• Negotiate administrative review of modifications to existing Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocols
• Perform ethical and technical review of IRB renewal protocols
• Provide consultation, assistance and dissemination of information in review process
• Manage reports, work with outside departments and funding agencies
• Update and monitor information in database system
• Oversee animal protocol routing process to ensure that the documents are reviewed/approved by all necessary individuals
• Participate in semiannual facility inspections and program reviews
• Work closely with attending veterinarian and IACUC chair to ensure protocol accuracy and consistency with federal and institutional policies prior to protocol approval
• Assist with oversight of biosafety and radiation safety committees

Qualifications: At least one to two years working experience in a similar position. Candidate should have advanced skills and experience in program administration, federal and state compliance experience, creating and maintaining web pages. Candidate must have strong organizational skills and experience with managing time sensitive timelines. Creating reports using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and Power Point), ability to work independently; ability to coordinate a volume and variety of programs and meetings; and strong interpersonal and written communication skills are required. It is preferred that the candidate have program administration experience and web page design and maintenance experience.

Salary Range: $34,381 - $42,021
