Description
The IRB Administrative Director, working in close collaboration with the Vice President of Clinical Research Operations and the IRB Chair, will supervise IRB staff, organize and facilitate IRB meetings, and participate in institution-wide training programs related to human subjects research. He or she will also oversee the IRB review process for all research protocol applications, amendments, continuations and adverse events reports.
Using operational metrics and various forms of investigator feedback, the IRB Administrative Director will proactively identify performance improvement opportunities and improve compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, regulations, accreditation standards, and best practices. He or she will also assist with the identification, evaluation, and remediation of compliance issues.
Requirements
Undergraduate degree required, graduate degree preferred. Five or more years of experience in IRB administration and management. Certified IRB Professional (CIP) or Certified IRB Manager (CIM), highly desirable (or required within 12 months of employment).
