The incumbent is responsible for the coordinating and directing all facets of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) function in the Department of Research Programs (DRP) for the 3 internal IRBs at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC). The IRB Administrator applies expert proficiency in utilizing the electronic research review system to review and facilitate approval of research throughout the National Capitol Region. S/he also serves as subject matter expert at meetings of the IRB and directly supervises civilian personnel assigned to support the IRB.
