IRB Administrator position in New York City

The Lincoln Medical & Mental Health Center Bronx New York Institutional Research Review Board (IRB) is seeking an IRB Administrator.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Pre-review New studies, and assists the IRB in assuring appropriate quality assurance of the IRB review;
- Pre-review all New Exempt and Expedited new studies to ensure all regulatory elements are found in the submission materials.

- Assist in coordinating other types of reviews i.e Continued reviews, adverse events and modifications

- Oversee IRB staff and implementation of best office practices, workflow and performance measurement

- Manage budget and purchases for the IRB office
- Convene the IRB meeting and oversee appropriate documentation of convened IRB decisions (agendas, letters and communications);
- Record Minutes for IRB meetings
- Work with the administrative staff of HRPP research committees to identify deficiencies in studies;
- Assist with implementation of technologies (Electronic systems, IRB websites and message Boards)
- Conduct IRB 'Fundamentals' Presentations and other IRB education and training activities.
- Work with the IRB teams/members and Chairman on special projects, policy formulation and protocol specific issues (Audits, Regulatory Compliance).

- Work with local Lincoln hospital and assist New York City Health & Hospital corporation (NYCHHC) central research administration office staff in conducting review and approval of research.

Today, Lincoln stands as the vital core of medical care for the Downtown Bronx community as a full service acute care hospital, one of the premier New York institutions and the busiest in the region. The Hospital is staffed by a team of more than 300 physicians and has an inpatient capacity of 347 beds.

Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center has its clinical affiliation with the Downtown Bronx Medical Associates/Physician Associate Group of New York, and an academic affiliation with the Weill Medical College of Cornell University, making Lincoln one of the most qualified, modern and technologically advanced hospitals in the nation. Lincoln offers faculty and its patients opportunities in state of the art clinical studies and health disparities research. Lincoln also operates a Center for clinical research that enhances community based federally funded research within the community. Lincoln is a member of the Weill Cornell Clinical Translational Science Institute (CTSA) and the NYU-HHC CTSI. Lincoln IRB is a free standing registered IRB under NYCHHC FWA.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree and Minimum 1-2 years of experience and knowledge directly related to IRB issues and human subjects research protection or equivalent combination of experience and education (typical experience might include ethics, clinical trial performance -industry or sponsor-investigator, and/or experience in an academic health center or medical school IRB), knowledge of applicable federal regulations related to IRB and clinical research; demonstrated administrative skills; must be able to work independently with minimal supervision; excellent written and oral communications skills; excellent customer service skills. Certification as an IRB professional (CIP) is highly desirable or will be required within 12 months of employment.
