The Office of Research Integrity at Florida International University has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, knowledgeable person who has strong analytical skills and wants to become a part of a team that strives to achieve and maintain a dynamic working partnership with current and future employees.

The IRB Coordinator coordinates the activities of the Social and Behavioral Institutional Review Board (SB-IRB) and the Health Sciences Institutional Review Board (HS-IRB).

Duties Include:

- Reviews new protocol submissions, continuing reviews, amendments, and informed consent forms for completeness in accordance with OHRP/FDA regulations.

- Coordinates the IRB review workflow and assigns protocols to board members for review.

- Provides investigators with guidance on the IRB submission process and contacts investigators for additional information as needed.

- Updates IRB committee members on new federal regulation developments and the appropriateness of review procedures.

- Maintains and records appropriate IRB documentation of convened board meeting decision making.

- Updates and maintains protocols through the online IRB protocol submission system.

- Participates in compliance education/outreach activities for IRB committee members, faculty, staff and students.

Minimum qualifications: Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience.

Desired qualifications: - BA/BS in a related discipline or licensing as a registered nurse, with a minimum of 3 years experience with an IRB or managing clinical trials. A certification as a Clinical Research Associate (CRA), Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC), Certified IRB Manager (CIM), or Certified IRB Professional (CIP) is preferred. Excellent working knowledge of FDA regulations, DHHS/OHRP regulations, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines is required.

Salary: $35,000 to $45,000 (Commensurate with experience)
