IRB COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST OR SPECIALIST SENIOR


This position will assist in the running of the IRB office, including the handling of investigator's questions, providing documentation and follow-up, particularly after the IRB has met and developed feedback to GSU researchers about their proposed protocols. The volume and complexity of problems encountered by this individual are substantial. In this position, this individual will assist in managing the web site for the IRB and develop database files for the IRB.


Essential Duties:

Maintains daily administrative operations for the efficient and timely processing of all human subject research protocols; sends correspondence to investigators regarding IRB actions taken on protocols; follows up with investigators to ensure timely response to IRB requests for revisions to protocols; creates and maintains office files; assists in the updating of a variety of manuals and forms required by federal agencies; coordinates IRB meeting activities, maintains the human subject's database; assists in updating the IRB web site; assists in the implementation of mechanisms to ensure that the University's policy on human subject research is consistent with federal regulations and actively communicates daily with investigators answering questions and providing appropriate documentation.


Salary: $34,470 - $52,817


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and one year of experience in human subject protection; or a combination of education and experience.
OR
Bachelor's degree and three years of experience in human subjects protection; or a combination of education and experience.


Preferred Qualifications:

- CIP should be obtained within one year of hire.
- CITI Training preferred.
- Experience working in an academic setting preferred.
- Certification as IRB Manager or IRB Professional preferred.
- Certified Senior IRB Specialist
- Ability to apply rules and regulations promulgated by federal, state and local agencies.
