Rejection of Posted Messages
No messages are posted to The IRB Forum until approved by the moderator. The moderator of The IRB Forum reserves the right to reject or discard any message posted through The IRB Forum. Messages will be rejected either with or without notification of the individual posting the message. Following is a list of the common reasons for rejection of a message.
(1) Messages containing inappropriate content that serve personal or political agendas, rather than advance the discussion. Messages on behalf of advocacy organizations, as opposed to individual opinions, will be rejected. Exceptions to this policy will be made on a case-by-case basis.
(2) Messages containing news articles or other secondary source material. Messages should refer readers to primary source material available on the Internet. Members may send the web address of a news article to The IRB Forum administrator for posting on the News portion of The IRB Forum. Exceptions to this policy may be made on a case-by-case basis.
(3) Personal responses that are best sent to the original sender, and not to the entire list.
(4) Administrative requests that should be sent to The IRB Forum administrator.
(5) Messages that have little information or minimal contribution to the discussion (often referred to as "me too" messages).
(6) Messages that appear to be promotional rather than to provide information or resources to the list. Resources may be posted on the Resources portion of The IRB Forum.
(7) Automatic vacation or "out of the office" messages. Please note that the sender of such messages may be suspended or removed from the list. Users are advised to suspend e-mail delivery from The IRB Forum before initiating an automatic e-mail response to incoming messages.
(8) Messages with attachments.
(9) Meeting announcments. Meeting announcements should be posted in the Calender section of The IRB Forum.
